VisionTo produce a healthy community where life is revered and the safe well- being of all ages of persons is supported by all. Mission StatementALTERNATIVES TO VIOLENCE is committed to enabling Tehama County residents to set a supportive standard in our society by making changes in our lives and the lives of others. We know that these enabling changes can be accomplished through education and perseverance. Our mission is to address this support by teaching and effectively providing insight on our social environment. This insight challenges all persons to be instrumental in the struggle to improve our well-being through education in involvement, encouraging positive choices, and change. PhilosophyIt is the philosophy of ALTERNATIVES TO VIOLENCE that the family is the nucleus that holds this community and our country together. In order to grow, learn, and have good health, a person must feel safe. Violence, of any type, in the home or in a relationship destroys the feeling of self worth and creates a fear in those exposed. This fear permeates through schools, work places, and tears at the fabric of our community. ALTERNATIVES TO VIOLENCE supports a holistic approach to this devastating problem. By this, we mean having people from all walks of life, no matter what religion, gender race or financial background, work together to affect change that empowers families and eliminates violence. |
